TIME FOR A SMILE

2002

If my dolls would draw even a little smile on your face, it means it’s time to smile again.Beatrice Perini

PHILIPOK

Beatrice was inspired by the beautiful drawings made in a story-book written by Leo Tolstoy.
This little boy named Philipok strongly wishes to follow his older brother Peter to school, impatient to learn to read and to write.

This new creation is made in all bisque, has a fully jointed body and wears a hand-made two-tones blond human hair wig. His blue glass eyes were specially hand-made for him in Germany.
Philipok wears the typical coat and striped wool trousers in blue tones. On his feet are the popular shoes called “lapti”, hand-made in raw cotton and completed by woolen socks.
He holds an abecedarian book and trails a little wooden toy. The doll is completed by a brass plate on wooden base stand.
For this special collection, each doll will come in a signed box.

IRINA

This young pouty child was created by Beatrice’s imagination as a little girl living in a far and cold Russian village. She is made in all bisque, has a fully jointed body and wears a hand-made red curly mohair wig. Her green glass eyes were specially hand-made for her in Germany.
She wears an ivory pure wool dress completely hand-embroidered in pink and green. Over her dress is an extra soft green hand-knitted shawl with hood. The same pure mohair wool was used for her hand-knitted stockings.
Seated on a wooden bench, she holds a sweet played tiny teddy bear.
For this special collection, each doll will come in a signed box.

PETER

This handsome boy is Philipok’s older brother.

He is made in all bisque, with a fully jointed body and a chestnut hand-made human hair wig.
His grey-green glass eyes were specially hand-made for him in Germany. He wears the typical Russian coat and wool trousers in green tones. On his feet are the popular shoes called “lapti”, hand-made in row cotton and completed by woolen socks. He’s wearing a black astrackhan hat.
The doll holds a school book and is completed by a brass plate on wooden base stand.
For this special collection, each doll will come in a signed box.

ZINAIDA

Once Beatrice met a beautiful young girl. Her face was very mysterious and Beatrice noticed her nose had some slight imperfections. She was captured by her intense expression and decided to create this doll named Zinaida.

She is made in all bisque, with a fully jointed body and a very long chestnut human hair wig.
Her light blue glass eyes were specially hand-made for her in Germany.
Zinaida wears an ivory and white dress made in tulle, adorned with pure cotton laces and a beautiful cameo. A hand-knitted pure mohair wool scarf adorns her nude shoulders and wears a white fur hat. Real leather golden shoes were specially made for her.
The doll is completed by a brass plate on wooden base stand.
For this special collection, each doll will come in a signed box.
